Visiting during the Folk Festival?

Hey Everyone!

I%26#39;ve got a tentative weekend planned in Newport the 1st weekend in August. Just noticed its also the same weekend as The Folk Festival. How is this weekend to visit - is it crazy to get around town with all the people? Just curious.

Not any more crazy as the rest of the summer. Since the festival takes place over at Fort Adams, most of the crowds are over there.....but in all honesty, it%26#39;s not even really any different than other summer weekends. If you are heading to the Folk Festival, I%26#39;d suggest a water shuttle over to the Fort....traffic on that weekend can be bad going/coming from the Fort.

I agree with the other post. It won%26#39;t be much different than any other weekend. If you know the back roads you have a definite advantage. Where will you be staying? As far as getting around depends on where it is you want to go.
