Is the Newport Vineyard worth visiting? What about a few other wineries in the area?

Check out Sakonnet vineyards, its not in Newport but really close. it is pretty decent for a New England Winery.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sakonnet looks like just what I wanted. I%26#39;ll plan to stop there in during my stay and may even try their cafe. I%26#39;ve never tried wine from New England.

While Npt Vinyards is close, as mentioned Sakonett is nicer and a pretty drive. However, not as far is Greenvale Vinyards in Portsmouth which is a farm setting, though a smaller operation. RI can have some decent whites.

You will not be dissappointed with Newport Vineyard%26#39;s tour %26amp; tasting. Greenvale is also worth the visit.

Right next door to Newport Vineyards is a great deli for lunch. It is only 5-10 minutes from downtown.

Sakkonet is the most well known, but is approximately a 35-45 minute drive from Newport.
