Hilton or Marriott this weekend during Waterfire?

Hi, I have option of staying at Providence Marriott or Hilton. I read Hilton is 2 blocks from Federal Hill so we can walk to restaurants and stroll to Waterfire?

I read Marriott is not really downtown and that it is not safe to walk at night. Don%26#39;t know if my info is updated as I saw some old posts. Marriott has free parking, Hilton is 22.00.

I also saw trolley stops at Marriott but ends at 7pm on sat. I prefer to park the car and walk everywhere sat and sunday.

Your best bet would probably be the Hilton. From the Marriott you could walk to Waterfire and the Mall, but you could also do that from the Hilton and still be close to Federal Hill for the restaurants.

Is anywhere really safe to walk at night, some would say no. But myself, I would feel safter walking from the Hilton than the Marriott.

Any chance you could stay at athe Courtyard Mariott? That is a better location than the regular Mariott....

Skip the hotels most of them are cheesy stay at one of Providence%26#39;s many inns or bed and breakfasts. Parking is FREE and so is BREAKFAST..... If you get a chance check out the beautiful Edgewood Manor (near Roger Williams Park and Zoo) or the Charles Newhall House right next to it. Also I think there are a few others around town but a much better romantic experience and probably for the same price!!!
