Narragansett, places to hang and listen to live music

Hi - can anyone recommend a few (preferably outdoors) laid back places in Narragansett where a couple of middle aged adult women in much need of downtime can hang, have a couple of drinks and listen to live music (along the lines of solo guitar and vocals)? Socializing with other patrons would be a welcome bonus! How about charming casual dining spots? Also, is the amusement park and boardwalk area safe for 13 year old girls by themselves in the evening? Thanks much. Shelly

You might try the Coast Guard House (restaurant), right on the beach. They have an outdoor deck, but I%26#39;m not sure about the quantity or type of music. Also look into Spain restaurant -- they have an outdoor terrace and may offer music, too. (I%26#39;m trying to keep to the laid back stuff here.)

What amusement park? I can%26#39;t think of any in Narragansett.

Oh, isn%26#39;t there a boardwalk in Narragansett with rides, games and that kind of stuff for kids? Also, we%26#39;re definately into lively places to dance as well. Shelly

There is a restaurant by the stone cove marina ( can%26#39;t remember the name of it) but we had dinner and downstairs there is a deck and they had a band. Nice older crowd, not young kids, the night we were there. I guess that particular band drew a middle aged crowd. I%26#39;m sure you could ask how to get there and check it out.

The Amalfi near the pier has an outdoor deck and always a crowd for drinks.

Amusement park? You sure you have the right town?

Casual dining spots? Aunt Carries, George%26#39;s, Champlins. Twin Willows down by Bonnet Shores.

Up scale places: Spain, Turtle Soup at the Ocean Rose Inn ( more reasonable prices at lunch and a porch or patio with ocean views).

I would avoid the Coast Guard house for anything more than drinks on the deck. I have heard some bad things about the food lately. Have fun!

There are occasional carnivals and Lion%26#39;s Fetstivals, things like that but no amusement park in Narragansett other then Adventureland which just has mini-golf, bumper boats, etc and is not walking distance from Narragansett Pier.

And there%26#39;s no boardwalk either.
