Getting here from Philadelphia

Hi everyone - my son will be traveling to Newport next month. Sorry, but I haven%26#39;t a clue as to how to ';get there from here.'; It doesn%26#39;t look like there%26#39;s an airport in Newport? What is the closest town where he could fly into? Thanks for any help.

Getting here from Philadelphia

The airport is in Warwick, 20 minutes away. There are shuttle vans that take you basically where you want to go in Npt- Cozy Cab I think-20.00 one way. It%26#39;s all very safe..

Getting here from Philadelphia

yeah, what XIA said....the airport your looking for is Providence (PVD) even though it%26#39;s in Warwick.

OK - thank you very much for your help!!

Why not drive? it is right off of 95. take exit 3A 138 right over two bridges. From Philly, I bet it wouldn%26#39;t take longer than 5 or 6 hours. I drive it from Allentown often and it isn%26#39;t such a bad drive if you leave at the right time of day. Meaning get your butt out of bed early to beat the traffic. LOL. good luck. Also, you can fly directly into Prov. from Philly airport, maybe he could rent a car when he arrives. Where is he staying in Newport? If he is close to town, you really don%26#39;t need a car. Guys can hitch a ride to the beach very easily. I wouldn%26#39;t recommend that for girls though.

Beach plum is right. It really isn%26#39;t a bad drive if you get up early and go. Traffic on 95 can be heavy during peak times. We did Newport as a side trip from Mystic, CT (it%26#39;s only about 45 mins to Newport from there).

If you really want to fly, Southwest flies into Providence. It would run around $109 RT in August.

All good info. Just make sure you take the Cozy Cab Shuttle Van from the baggage claim area if you fly in. A cab will run you $60-$75 dollars and the shuttle is $20.

401.846.2500 to make a reservation.

Easy drive and I have done it many times.
