I don%26#39;t know if you%26#39;ve been to town already (last week%26#39;s Waterfire), but if not, you might want to try to the Diocese of Providence%26#39;s web-site re: local church locations, mass times, etc. Phone numbers are listed.

Close to Waterfire would be St. Fancis Chapel (run by the Franciscan monks), %26amp; the Cathedral. Nearby, on Federal Hill, would be Our Lady of Mt. Carmel %26amp; also Holy Ghost. Quite nearby, on the East Side, is St. Joseph%26#39;s, on Hope Street.

Brown Univ has a Cath chaplaincy too--visit their chaplains%26#39; office website %26amp; see if any Masses are scheduled during the summer. That would be the closest walk (although up a steep hill) to Waterfire---in Manning Chapel; that%26#39;s the gray Greek temple facing Prospect St. They serve Cath students from both Brown %26amp; RISD.

Brown has grad students there year round %26amp; chaplains might have a reduced summer schedule for their sakes.
