arcadia hiking

We%26#39;re heading to Rhode Island for the second time. Can anyone recommend the best trail(s) for a day of hiking in Arcadia Park? Or maybe the Ells Pond area--something easy or intermediate difficulty. We are going to be in the Waverly area July 4-5-6th, and would like a beach alternative. (We hiked in Ninigret and Moore Woods last time.)

Thank you...

Hmmm. Arcadia..Breakhart Trail- or the trail around Breakhart Pond for starters. The trails that go along the little rivers are really nice, especially the ones up to the Stepstone Falls, I forget their names. There are some trail maps at the visitor center but they are very primitive. I have found that the road into the park at the church (heading north) to be a good central location. From the first pond you can park and walk up to Breakhart pond and back. Mt. Tom Trail also. There usually are some mountain bikers and horse trail riders, but mainly the place is nicely underutilized and empty. Enjoy.

Wonderful, thanks. I downloaded a map and it looks like Frosty Hollow Rd/FH Pond/John B Hudson Tr/Breakheart Pond--it%26#39;s difficult to tell distances, but maybe then--Breakheart trail over the top to Ben Utter Trail to Stepstone Falls. Or, shorter, drive to Escoheag Hill Rd and hook up to B Utter Trail to Stepstone Falls. There it is for the record! I%26#39;ll be checking this with the visitor center.

I really appreciate it.
