Newport to Boston by Train?

Any info on train to boston would be appreciated. Distance from Newport to train station, cost to get to station (taxi?), cost to get to Boston, time to Boston, how often they run, etc. Thanks!!

Also, it appears I can get from the airport (Providence) to Newport for $20/pp. How long will it take? Do I need reservations? Thanks again.........

Newport to Boston by Train?

my understanding is that you DO need to call to make the shuttle reservation from the airport. The trip takes less than an hour by private car...probably about the same in the shuttle.

I have no clue about the train.
