I am looking for a 2-3 day break with my wife. I was thinking of Block Island. Is it a good idea? Can anyone help me with suggestions of where we can stay and what we can do?

Block Island is a very special place. Be sure you have a way of getting around the island though.

Well, there are only so many places to stay as it is small, and I don%26#39;t know one from the other-but most have been mentioned on this site numerous times. As far as getting around, at least to some of the must see locations like Mohegan Bluffs and the lighthouses- you could bike, there also many moped rentals, or you could take your car on the ferry.
Having stayed several times, I would suggest staying at Spring House. You won%26#39;t want to be on the harbor. Its loud and crowded. There%26#39;s a party crowd that stays at the National that can get loud. Spring House and The Atlantic are up on the hill and are quiet (usually) and romantic. Eat at those 2 and at Eli%26#39;s and The Manisses.
Rent bikes or bring your own. Its a great place to ride. You can round the island in a morning( long morning) and stop at the bluffs, Rodman%26#39;s hollow, Mansion Beach, the lighthouse on North Point.
