Where is a good place to stay for less than $150.00 per night in Newport? We would stay at either B%26amp;B or hotel type. We are senior citizens and require only a clean room with private bath down by the Wharf. We need a parking place free.

It all depends on the time of year. In season almost all places have 2 night minimums. The reservation companies will be able to assist you with location and pricing. The above website also has a great calendar of events that you should visit concerning the time you are visiting.
This would be July 16 (Monday) and July17 (Tuesday) - for 2 nights. We want to see the mansions and do Cliff Walk, etc. What lodgings are reasonable downtown?

You might want to try America%26#39;s Cup Inn- right downtown and overlooked, though not as modern as some of the other hotels...don%26#39;t know about parking...probably tough to find in that range in July in Npt. Las Palmas Inn or Jailhouse Inn maybe??
Thanks. I think we decided to stay in Middleport. It is much cheaper - parking is fine and rates are reasonable.

You might want to call the Newport Gateway center/ Newport Chamber of Commerce to find out about deals. Also I was recently called by Wyndham Resorts which has all sorts of package deals including vouchers to see a mansion or a $50 gfift certificate to a restaurant and the accomodations offered were for a family of four. they were at various places including the Best Western Mainstay in Middletown across from Jai alai and they were for two nights and just $150! The catch was that you had to sit through a timeshare presentation (but you aren%26#39;t obligated to buy).
