Plans changed and we are staying out of the city June 23 weekend. Will be driving into the city to see Waterfire Saturday evening. Any suggestions on where to park (safe area)? When to arrive? How much time should we anticipate wandering around? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
June 23 - waterfire and parking
The RI Historical Society has a 1 hour walking tour at 5:30 from the John Brown House on Power St. It offers a great intro to Waterfire and you can park in their lot on Charlesfield St. The walk costs $10.00/person and half the money goes to support Waterfire. The walk ends at Waterplace Park. You might like to walk to Federal Hill for something to eat after the walk. Federal Hill is about a 12 minute walk from Waterplace Park. Plan to spend a couple of hours at Waterfire walking the Riverwalk and visiting the other venues. There will be dance at Sovereign Plaza and a Jazz band on Steeple St. as well as entertainers along the Riverwalk. The Waterfire websight has good info on all of this as well as information on where to park.

You can Park just about anywhere on the east side benefit street,or the mall( Providence Place) has reasonable parking.
