I am moving to RI from Maryland and am curious where to live. I would love about 1 acre in an older community with good schools. Ideally, only 15-20 minutes from Providence? Any suggestions?
moving to RI
Rhode Island is only 47 miles from top to bottom, so anywhere you live is going to be close to Providence. The Warwick or Coventry area is right about in the middle of the state. Foster, Scituate and Hope get a little more country and have beautiful wooded areas, also further from the water, making winters a little tougher. Foster is actually right onthe CT border, but still so very close to Providence. I have a great realtor guy who may be able to find you something. His name is Donny Bennett and his number is (401) 269-9615 - Tell him Denise from West Warwick referred you.
I moved out to RI about 2 years ago and have recently come back to NY to deal with some family issues. I miss it terribly and look forward to going back some day. Work is hard to find, so I hope you%26#39;ve lined that up or are going due to a work transfer. You will NEVER get a state or government job because everything stays within family there. You%26#39;ll find the government to be interetsingly corrupt, but that%26#39;s part of what RI is. There is a great my space blog on RI blog.myspace.com/index.cfm…
it%26#39;s so true.
Good luck on your move

Thank you for the information. I have a job and that is the draw to the state. I am very nervous about moving. Here is an odd questions: can you buy beer in grocery stores in RI? In Maryland all beer, wine, etc. has to be purchased in a liquor store.
Thanks!
Nope, all beer wine and spirits are bought at a liquor store..
