Any scene going on on a summer Saturday in Providence?

Looking to hold a bachelor party - possibly in Providence. Guys in our early 30%26#39;s....just looking for some good bars/outdoor drinking?

Anything going on next weekend August 18th that would make this a good destination or is everyone out of town?

We%26#39;ve done Newport before and that was a good scene...

Any scene going on on a summer Saturday in Providence?

Hello Mike,

August 18th there is going to be a Waterfire in Providence. Waterfire is basically when the Providence River is illuminated with cauldrons of fire from sunset until the early hours of the morning. It brings in thousands of people to the city and continues at sporadic dates through October.

There are definatley some good bars in the Providence area. Considering that college students make up a third of Providence%26#39;s population, the city is a little quieter in the summer. However, colleges are starting up soon and the city is slowly returning to normal capacity.

Federal Hill has lots of bars and they are all located on the same street. There are also some good bars just east of the Providence River as well. Downtown has some great spots but they are sort of spread out. You can walk to any of them within about 10 minutes.
